The Vaughn College Warriors women's tennis team received two selections to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) All-HVIAC Women's Tennis Team. For the first time in program history the Warriors had two first-year players that were nominated. Sophomores Emely Castillo (Bronx, NY) and Angela Wright (Northport, NY) were named to the 2018 All-HVIAC Women's Tennis Team. Castillo and Wright both joined the Vaughn College women's tennis team for the 2018 season.
Castillo was recently introduced to the game of tennis. This was her first experience playing tennis on the varsity level. She worked hard all season and really began to develop towards the end of the year. She competed in the number three and four singles positions for most of the 2018 season. She competed in the number 2 doubles position with teammate Angela Wright. Wright and Castillo have been a great compliment to one another. Hopefully both Castillo and Wright can continue to progress to work work on their individual games and become cornerstones of the Warriors' women's tennis program for the next couple of years.
